Spicyness:
Carnitas are Mexican-style slow-cooked pulled pork. It is usually prepared in a large pot placed in front of butcher shops, bubbling with flavor. Although several states debate the origin of this preparation, it is most likely that it originated in the state of Michoacan, specifically in the community of Quiroga. One package is enough for a taco meal for two. Itacate brings that nostalgic feeling home to you with these ready-to-eat carnitas. When warmed up in the pan for a few minutes they serve as a juicy meat topping for your tortas, tacos or just because, they are a truly authentic Mexican treat. The marinated preparation keeps the meat edible for a long time.
Serving Suggestion: Take the following recommendation to heart: serve with onions, cilantro, limes and salsa, accompanied by e.g. the Masamor Tortillas from our store, and a few salsas and your Mexican taco evening can start. If you want to enjoy the carnitas really tropical, also the Salsa Pineapple, Cononut and Chipotle from Mia-Moiii is a good addition to the Carnitas. You can use the other ingredients above in addition to the salsa.
