La Reina de las Tortillas tamales are delicious pockets of traditional masa corn dough, filled with the tender Cochinita Pibil mixture - pulled pork shoulder, which has been slowly braised in an aromatic marinade of achiote paste, orange juice and lime. The tamales are then wrapped in leaves (these leaves are not eaten, but are only intended for warming and keeping warm) and gently steamed until they are really aromatic. This specialty from Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula brings you typical moments of pleasure. What's more, the tamales can be prepared very quickly.

Recipe

Can be prepared as a ready meal directly in the microwave. You can, for example, heat up Salsa Sonia and pour it over the tamales and cook rice on the side.

Tips

No refrigeration required, can be heated directly in the microwave.
Store in a dry and cool place (between 8 and 20 degrees). Once opened, store in the fridge and consume within 1-2 days.
Wait a little before unwrapping the leaves to allow them to cool.
