The corn liqueur from NIXTA from the Distileria y Bodega Abasolo in Mexico is worth seeing thanks to its bottle presentation and as a Mexican you feel home by touching it. You also get pure Mexican tradition inside. The distillery is located in Jilotepec at around 2,400 meters above sea level and is one of the highest distilleries in the world.

The liqueurs are distilled from a special variety of sweet white corn called Cacahuazintle. The 4000-year-old tradition of nixtamalizing corn is honoured here. They are bottled in a glass bottle in the shape of a corn cob - a real eye-catcher. The color is clear. On the nose, there is a soft aroma of sweet, roasted corn kernels, accompanied by notes of vanilla and caramel. A sweet corn flavor unfolds on the palate, complemented by nuances of vanilla and toffee. The finish is long-lasting.

The Nixta Licor de Elote was awarded 89/100 points at the Falstaff Spirits Trophy 2023, making it one of the top 100 liqueurs in the world.
